Working on color for SBS this week at Splice
I'm working on color grading for Stuck Between Stations this week at Splice Here in Minneapolis. Colorist Michael Sandness is at the helm. He works on an Apple Color suite using Tangent CP200 control surfaces with a MacPro (2.26Ghz 8-core with 32 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA-FX 4800 card) under the hood. This week we are combing through the first three reels and setting some basic looks, occasionally getting specific but mostly going for a "best light" for each scene. Later, with Brady (the Director) we will lock into a more final look. We are working at 2k in a 12bit (ProRes 4:4:4) colorspace from footage processed in RedColor with a Rec709 gamma curve. Good times.
